A woman in her 30s has died after being attacked by a pet dog in Coventry. The incident occurred inside a property on Wexford Road around 12:15 PM BST on Monday.
Emergency Response
Upon arrival, the ambulance service found the woman in critical condition. Due to safety concerns, police officers helped move her outside quickly. Despite receiving advanced life support from paramedics, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after.
Ongoing Investigation
West Midlands Police reported that the dog involved was seized, and the woman’s death has been reported to the coroner for further investigation. The breed of the dog has not yet been confirmed, but it is not believed to be a banned breed. A full assessment is needed before authorities can confirm the details.

Chief Inspector David Amos expressed condolences, stating, “We understand that this is a distressing and tragic incident. We appreciate the local community’s support and the efforts of our emergency services colleagues. Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the deceased woman.”
Swift Medical Response
West Midlands Ambulance Service dispatched two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and two air ambulances, with the first ambulance arriving within six minutes of the call. A spokesperson noted, “With police assistance, the woman was rapidly removed from the property due to safety concerns.” Despite the best efforts of the medical team, the woman was confirmed dead at the scene. Fortunately, no one else was injured in the attack.
